【摘要】:Thismethodisfordeterminingthedispersionofaluminasupportedplatinum(Pt)onfreshorregeneratedcatalystcontainingPtaloneorPtplustin.Catalyst,suchaspresulfidedorspent,containingsulfides,carbon,orgreaterthan1.5mass-%chlorides,cannotbereliablyanalyzed.Thismethodisapplicabletocatalystsizesrangingfrom0.29mm(50mesh)to3.99mm(5mesh).TheresultsareexpressedastheratioofthenumberofmolesofhydrogenchemisorbedtothenumberofmolesofPtinthecatalyst.Aratioof1.00isdefinedas100%dispersion(allthePtatomsareavailableforcatalysis).Valueslessthan1.00mayindicatecrystallitegrowthorasurfaceinterference.Also,theresultingH2/PtvaluescanbeaffectedbyelementsotherthanPtonthecatalyst.ThePtcontentofthetestsampleisdeterminedbytheappropriateUOPMethodforthecatalysttype.
