【摘要】:1.1Thispracticedescribesthetechniquesforplanning,conducting,analyzing,andtreatingtheresultsofaninterlaboratorystudy(ILS)ofatestmethod.Thestatisticaltechniquesdescribedinthispracticeprovideadequateinformationforformulatingtheprecisionstatementofatestmethod.1.1.1AcomputersoftwarepackageforperformingthecalculationsandproducingthetablesandgraphsassociatedwithPracticeE691.ThissoftwarecanberunonPCcompatiblecomputers,andhardcopytablesandgraphscanbeprintedondot-matrixprinters.1.2Thispracticedoesnotconcernitselfwiththedevelopmentoftestmethodsbutratherwithgatheringtheinformationneededforatestmethodprecisionstatementafterthedevelopmentstagehasbeensuccessfullycompleted.Thedataobtainedintheinterlaboratorystudymayindicate,however,thatfurthereffortisneededtoimprovethetestmethod.1.3Sincetheprimarypurposeofthispracticeisthedevelopmentoftheinformationneededforaprecisionstatement,theexperimentaldesigninthispracticemaynotbeoptimumforevaluatingmaterials,apparatus,orindividuallaboratories.1.4FieldofApplication8212;Thispracticeisconcernedexclusivelywithtestmethodswhichyieldasinglenumericalfigureasthetestresult,althoughthesinglefiguremaybetheoutcomeofacalculationfromasetofmeasurements.1.4.1Thispracticedoesnotcovermethodsinwhichthemeasurementisacategorization,suchasago-no-goallocation(twocategories)orasortingschemeintotwoormorecategories.Forpracticalpurposes,thediscontinuousnatureofmeasurementsofthesetypesmaybeignoredwhenatestresultisdefinedasanaverageofseveralindividualmeasurements.Then,thispracticemaybeapplicable,butcautionisrequiredandastatisticianshouldbeconsulted.1.5Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
